Statue of Andrew Marvell by William Day Keyworth Junior (1843-1902), a white marble statue on a coloured granite plinth and limestone base.

I was presented to the City by Councillor John Winship in 1867 and originally sited in the Town Hall.

Andrew Marvell was an English metaphysical poet, satirist and politician, seating in the House of Commons at many occasions between 1659 and 1678.
