Role: Construction Project Manager
Location: Thomann-Hanry® HQ, Park Royal NW10/On-site

Role context

This is an exciting time to directly support and ensure the delivery of a specific project whilst initiating improvements to service, quality and operational efficiency.

Role purpose

The role’s purpose is to plan, coordinate and oversee projects involving restoration and maintenance, taking place on prestigious and historic buildings in London. The role will provide an oversight of contractors, various trade workers and Thomann-Hanry® employees whilst reporting and tracking project progress.

Taking into account project methodology and tracking systems, the Construction Project Manager will provide hands-on support whilst ensuring client satisfaction and best reputational and financial return for Thomann-Hanry®.

The role is expected to be the key contact with our clients at the building, providing comprehensive liaison on all project-related matters. As well as ensuring day-to-day management of the site.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborating directly with the Managing Director, Contracts Manager/Programmer and all necessary stakeholders in relation to all project work.
  • Consulting with clients and company representatives to direct project development.
  • Selecting and coordinating contractors needed for projects.
  • Selecting and coordinating tools and materials needed for projects.
  • Comprehensive checking of project progress and amendments to requirements.
  • Cultivating strong working relations to resolve project conflicts and making decisions where necessary.
  • Compiling and circulating project details.
  • Costing and budgeting analysis.
  • Completing on-site risk assessments and method statements.
  • Disseminating health and safety information and documents ensuring all is completed compliantly.
  • Attending and providing information at the weekly ‘Monday Management Meeting’.
  • Cost analysis and comparison for Thomann-Hanry® orders.
  • Updating and reviewing MS project planner to ensure data is current.
  • Ensuring all enquiries are responded to in a timely manner and in line with corporate response times.
  • Meeting clients and fostering relationships.

Essential skills and experience

  • MUST HAVE previous experience of working on historic buildings.
  • MUST HAVE solid experience in project management using formal project management methodologies.
  • MUST HAVE Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification.
  • Experience in using MS Project.
  • Previous experience in monitoring and evaluation systems and managing budgets and finance.
  • Good understanding of risk and risk management with experience of handling risk appropriately.

Role: Health & Safety Manager – Maternity Cover – initial 14 months – applicant to be able to start ASAP

This is an exciting opportunity to join the organisation and continue to embed and support essential health and safety processes and standards as part of the drive to keep it at the forefront of everything Thomann-Hanry® do.

Role purpose

The role’s purpose is to provide maternity cover for the post of Health & Safety Manager at Thomann-Hanry®. The role will provide hands-on support on sites and write RAMS for numerous activities. The role will ensure the continued support, coordination, and input into the health safety requirements for a wide variety of projects taking place on historic buildings in and around the Greater London area. Further to this, the role will continue with the current work on the implementation of a number of standards that are being progressed for the organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Regularly review and update the company risk assessments, safe operating procedures, and safety statement.
  • Screen projects and project sites before work commences, identifying safety-related risks.
  • Inspect active project sites to evaluate ongoing work conditions to guarantee compliance.
  • Liaise with external parties such as government-employed inspectors to evaluate the process of sites.
  • Identify areas of risk and develop measures to reduce and control.
  • Work with senior management to create plans for emergency procedures.
  • Promptly alert management of any significant incidents or accidents.
  • Maintain safety-related paperwork, including plant logs and safety training certifications.
  • Train company employees on safe work practices and emergency procedures and undertake health and safety inductions.
  • Disseminating health and safety information and documents ensuring all is completed and compliant.
  • Represent Thomann-Hanry® in meetings with government bodies and other organisations on issues regarding workplace health and safety.
  • Interact with licensed bodies for regular updates on legal regulations and program initiatives on workplace safety and environmental issues.
  • Continuation of implementation of standards IS09001 & ISO14001.
  • Management of digital safety checklist software iAuditor.
  • Management of health & safety database.
  • Selecting and coordinating equipment, materials, and contractors needed for health and safety compliance.
  • Costing and analysis of all health and safety equipment.
  • Ensuring that appropriate PPE is issued and used correctly by employees.

Role: Master Mason
Location: predominantly Westminster with work across the Greater London area

Role context

Thomann-Hanry® carry out cleaning, restoration, and new stonework to the finest residential and commercial properties in London. Over the last decade, Thomann-Hanry® have grown significantly. As their portfolio of work expands, the need for a dedicated Master Mason with a solid experience and knowledge of banking, fixing and restoration work is paramount to enable the company to deliver the best possible service to all clients and restoration projects.

Role purpose

The role’s purpose is to manage and lead the stone masonry team and works at Thomann-Hanry®. There will be a focus on undertaking the fixing, repairing, and pointing of natural stone, building piers, and walls; indenting, laying stones according to construction plans as well as supporting other stonemasonry tasks as required by projects being undertaken by Thomann-Hanry®. The role will be required the Master Mason to work closely with our junior stonemasons and ensure exceptional standards of work are delivered whilst imparting knowledge, insight, guidance, and training on tasks being undertaken.

Essential skills and experience

  • A clear portfolio of works previously undertaken.
  • A proven track record of fixing, repairing, and pointing natural stone.
  • A strong understanding of lime mortar and its properties.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in stone masonry.
  • A NVQ or equivalent in stone masonry.
  • Previous and evident experience in stone masonry, building cleaning systems, and reparation.
  • Previous documented experience in completing restoration works on historic buildings.
  • Experience in managing and teaching junior stonemasons.
  • Excellent customer focus, strong attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience in working with Portland stone.
  • Experience in operating truck mount platforms (category 3a and self-propelled booms category 3b).
  • Previous experience of working at heights in a predominantly outdoor environment.
  • IPAF certification.

Salary: £45,000 per annum + bonus based on KPI’s


Role: HGV Driver and MEWP Operator – immediate start
Location: predominantly Westminster with work across the Greater London area

Projects are typically in Westminster with our depot and offices based in Park Royal. Car parking is available for staff at our offices.

This role work will involve you actively partaking in works such as but not limited to;

  • Driving company lorries and vehicles and operating MEWP’s.
  • Loading, unloading, and strapping down vehicles.
  • Assisting specialists in the completion of their duties and on-site support.

The candidate

An exceptional standard of work is expected but is important to us that any candidates have good communication skills to deal with colleagues and clients, as well as the ability to present themselves and follow the company ethos. Essential experience and requirements

  • IPAF – experience operating truck mount platforms category 1b (with 3a and 3b desirable).

Role: Exterior Painter – immediate start
Location: predominantly Westminster with work across the Greater London area

The candidate

Whilst an exceptional standard of work is expected it is important to us that all candidates have good communication skills to deal with colleagues and clients, as well as the ability to present themselves and follow the company ethos. We offer continuous training to support our team keep up to date on existing skills and to learn new ones whilst gaining recognised industry qualifications.

Essential experience and requirements

  • Blue CSCS Card.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience and/or hold an NVQ in painting.
  • Previous experience of working on high-end projects and painting sash windows.
  • Experience using ‘Repair Care’ resin.
  • The majority of work will fall between Monday-Friday but the ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional nights and some weekends is preferable and will offer generous overtime rates.

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working at heights in a predominantly outdoor environment.
  • IPAF – experience operating truck mount platforms category 1b (with 3a and 3b desirable).

Salary: £33,000 per annum + annual bonus
