Returning to Park Lane — InterContinental London

For Thomann-Hanry®, Park Lane holds a special place in our company’s history. From the earliest days of our establishment, we’ve been entrusted with the task of cleaning and restoring the façades of some of the most prestigious hotels in this iconic area of London.

It’s a testament to our commitment to excellence that many of these esteemed clients, including renowned 5-star establishments, have welcomed us back time and again over the years.

One such landmark is the InterContinental, a towering structure boasting 449 rooms and a prime location at the corner of Hyde Park where Piccadilly begins. Its sheer scale and prominence make it a focal point in the neighbourhood, underscoring the importance of maintaining its façade to the highest standards.

Despite the hustle and bustle of this vibrant area, with its heavy traffic and pollutants, we understand the significance of keeping these architectural gems in pristine condition. Our return to Park Lane is not just a routine maintenance call; it’s a reaffirmation of our enduring partnership with these establishments.

A Royal heritage — the story behind the property

The history of the InterContinental is as rich as its façade. Built on the site of former townhouses including 145 Piccadilly, the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth II, the hotel is steeped in royal heritage. Destroyed during World War II, the townhouses made way for the construction of this modern icon, designed by architect  and town planner Sir Frederick Gibberd.

Reflecting on our continued collaboration with the InterContinental, Managing Director Mark Styles remarked,

Thomann-Hanry® are thrilled to announce our return to Park Lane, marking another chapter in our enduring decade-long partnership with this landmark hotel. Our expertise lies in meticulously cleaning expansive structures like the InterContinental, minimising disruptions while upholding the pristine image of our clients’ brands.

The secret to our success — innovative cleaning solutions

What sets Thomann-Hanry® apart is our patented process for cleaning building exteriors, which has become synonymous with efficiency and quality. Façades like that of the InterContinental present unique challenges, especially in bustling locations where downtime is not an option.

Our innovative approach ensures minimal disruption to hotel operations and guest experiences. By utilising owned access equipment and specialised cleaning methods, we streamline the process from start to finish, without the need for prolonged scaffolding or third-party involvement.

Protecting your investment — the Aqua Fend® advantage

Beyond cleaning, we understand the importance of preserving the longevity of these architectural masterpieces. That’s why we recommend our proprietary surface coating, Aqua Fend®, to protect against weathering, water damage, and contamination.

By creating an invisible yet impenetrable barrier, Aqua Fend® shields surfaces from pollution, oil, grime, and other contaminants, reducing the need for ongoing maintenance and preserving their appearance for years to come.

As we reflect on our journey along Park Lane, we are reminded of the trust and confidence our clients have placed in us. Thomann-Hanry® stand as the first port of call for façade works in this prestigious neighbourhood, thanks to our unwavering dedication to quality and innovation.

Looking in to the future, we are excited about the prospect of returning to Park Lane time and again, continuing to uphold the beauty and integrity of these architectural marvels; grateful for the opportunity to be part of Park Lane’s enduring legacy.
